2013 Azamara Cruises
The new Azamara Club Cruises have been turning some heads and making
believers out of folks that thought they were just another cruise line.
They have become one of the best large ship cruise lines for last year
as named by Travel and Leisure. The following is their Company Profile
for Azamara Cruises as well as a letter from their President, Larry
Pimentel.
Azamara is the new, up-market cruise experience for discerning travelers
who long to reach out-of-the-ordinary destinations and indulge in
amenities and service unparalleled on the high seas. The unique
offerings of Azamara are beyond compare: butler service is provided in
every suite; our shore excursions (we prefer to call them shore
immersions), are designed to let guests become part of the fabric of
life in each destination, instead of merely being an observer; our
enrichment programs offer everything from culinary to photographic
explorations; our two specialty restaurants provide the finest cuisine
at sea; live entertainment can be enjoyed nightly; and the level of
service offered is unmatched.
Azamara Club Cruises consists of two intimate ships, Azamara Journey and
Azamara Quest. Each can carry 694 fortunate guests to discover the
hidden corners of the world that larger cruise ships simply cannot
reach. In addition to offering a more personalized experience, our ships
have recently undergone a $17.5 million revitalization with new European
bedding and soft goods, flat screen televisions, new veranda decking and
furniture, and wireless internet service in all staterooms and public
areas. Plus, 93% of our staterooms offer ocean views and 68% have a
private veranda.
You may be wondering where the name Azamara comes from. Azamara is a
coined term derived from the Romance languages. This includes the more
obvious links to blue (az) and the sea (mar). The name was also inspired
by a star, Acamar. In Classical times, the star Acamar was
the most southern bright star that could be seen from the latitude of
Greece. We think of Azamara Club Cruises as a star on the blue sea. The
flowing name that conjures up the imagery of magnificent journeys around
the world. And they look forward to sharing these voyages with their
guests.
Letter from the President:
Larry Pimentel
President & CEO, Azamara Club Cruises
Welcome to the "club," and thank you for visiting. In December, our baby
boutique brand - which launched as "Azamara Cruises" in 2007 - became
"Azamara Club Cruises." We're taking what was already an incredibly good
product and are devoted to making it absolutely exceptional.
Cruising with Azamara Club Cruises allows you to not just see the
destination, but to live it. Consider destinations like St. Tropez, or
St. Petersburg, Russia. If you've experienced them only by day, you
haven't really experienced them. But with Azamara Club Cruises, you
can…because we're slowing down the tempo, to include more overnight
stays and late-night stays in the many captivating locations we visit
around the world.
And our focus on destination immersion begins well before you step foot
on shore. Onboard the ship, our destination experts are poised to
prepare you for your time ashore, enlightening you about the various
ports of call, and offering insight into the sights, sounds and flavors
that await you. We've also tailored our entertainment and enrichment
programs to reflect the destinations you'll visit, to help you get the
most of your time ashore.
Speaking of flavors, you'll soon find a tantalizing, expanded wine
program onboard, with tastings that will introduce you to some
spectacular, limited-availability wines from the finest boutique
wineries in the world - with fine wines you may never have the
opportunity to sample at home, because they produce such a small
quantity and distribute only locally. And, beginning in April, our
top-quality house wines will be offered complimentary during both lunch
and dinner service.
Many new amenities also will be included within your cruise fare from
April 2010 onward, such as bottled water, soft drinks, and specialty
coffees and teas in all areas of the ship. Meals and room service also
are inclusive, as are gratuities for our dedicated housekeeping and
dining staff.
Dining in our inviting specialty restaurants, Prime C and Aqualina, will
be available complimentary for suite guests throughout the cruise
beginning in April. Our stateroom guests are guaranteed two nights, and
beyond that, can dine in our specialty restaurants throughout the
voyage, based on availability, for a cover of $15 per person.
Additionally, we offer a self-service laundry facility at no cost. And,
where possible, we're adding complimentary shuttle bus service to and
from ship and city centers of the port communities we visit.
All of us at Azamara Club Cruises are eager to present to you all of our
new features and amenities. And, at the same time, we're retaining one
constant, which is the exceptional service provided by the warm,
dedicated crew on each of our intimate, 694-guest ships. These
incredible people are committed to offering warm, personalized, yet
non-intrusive service. We strive to offer a refined, friendly and up
market experience at every turn, from true English butler service in our
luxurious suites and attentive and professional attendants in all
staterooms, to our new wellness and vigor programs that offer so much
more than simply a spa and a gym.
I invite you to join us on Azamara Journey or Azamara Quest. As we
believe our tagline so aptly expresses, "You'll love where we take you."
Allow us to take you on a well-deserved vacation with Azamara Club
Cruises.
Thank you,
Larry Pimentel
President & CEO
